Asset operations

This content is for Spring ’26. Switch to the latest version for up-to-date documentation.

The mobile app offers several ways to add new assets. You can create folders to organise content, upload files from your device’s storage, capture photos using your device’s camera, open the gallery to select existing photos, or use the stitch function to combine multiple images into a single panoramic asset. This is ideal for capturing full shelf runs.

When creating new assets, you can assign metadata, tags, and attributes during the upload flow. The app also supports batch capture. Take multiple photos in sequence and upload them together with shared metadata. If Spaces is enabled, assets are uploaded to your currently selected Space.

Deleting assets from the mobile app works the same as on the web. Deleted items are moved to the Bin and can be restored within the retention period. Swipe actions and long-press menus provide quick access to the delete function. You can also select multiple assets for batch deletion.

Tagging is available on mobile with a streamlined interface. When viewing an asset, tap the tags area to add or remove tags. The app suggests existing tags as you type, helping maintain consistency and reducing typos. You can also apply tags to multiple assets at once by selecting them from the catalog view. When Spaces is enabled, only tags belonging to your current Space are shown.

The Open File action launches an asset in your device’s native viewer or a compatible third-party app. This is useful for file types that benefit from specialised viewers, for example, opening a PDF in your preferred PDF reader or a video in your media player. The file is opened directly from Studio’s cache, so it works even with offline assets.

You can mark assets for offline access so they remain available when you don’t have an internet connection. This is essential for field teams visiting stores in areas with limited connectivity. Offline assets are downloaded to your device and kept in sync. When you reconnect, any updates from the server are automatically applied.

Copy Link generates a shareable URL for the selected asset, just as on the web. The link is copied to your device’s clipboard and can be pasted into any messaging app, email, or note. Recipients with Studio access will be taken directly to the asset; others will see a sign-in prompt.

The mobile app integrates with your device’s native sharing sheet, allowing you to share assets via any installed app, whether that is email, messaging, social media, or cloud storage. When sharing, Studio can apply watermarks if configured by your administrator, ensuring brand protection even when content is distributed through informal channels.

Export lets you package selected assets for transfer outside of Studio. You can export individual files or select multiple assets for a bundled export. Exported files are saved to your device’s local storage or shared via the sharing sheet. Export respects any watermarking rules configured by your administrator.
