Budgets and funds

This content is for Spring ’26. Switch to the latest version for up-to-date documentation.

Budgets set aside financial envelopes-usually by fiscal year-for activities such as trade promotions. They can be fixed (a known pot that does not grow within the period) or accrual-based (allocations can flex when performance or rules increase entitlement).

Funds link a budget to one or more accounts (or hierarchies). A fund is the slice of the budget that a customer or region may consume. Together, budgets and funds support real-time visibility of committed and consumed trade spend at account or portfolio level.

Promotions often reference a fund so tactic spend draws down the right pot. That association is optional if you do not need budget tracking on every offer.

Both budgets and funds can be hierarchical when your operating model needs nested roll-ups.
