Promotion tax

This content is for Spring ’26. Switch to the latest version for up-to-date documentation.

Promotion tax settings determine how tax interacts with promotional prices and free goods, so invoices and accruals reflect your finance policy: either inherit line-level tax behaviour from the price book entries on each product in a mixed basket, or attach a simple fixed tax treatment when the promotional price behaves as a single bundle.

Where a promotion includes multiple priced products and no global fixed promotional price, tax usually follows each order line according to price book tax configuration for the products actually purchased.

Where the promotion enforces a fixed price across a combination, you can apply an optional flat tax rate per purchase so the bundle is taxed as one commercial unit when per-SKU inheritance would misrepresent bundled selling.
