Check-in
This content is for Spring ’26. Switch to the latest version for up-to-date documentation.
Checking in to a visit records where you are in relation to the outlet. That is especially useful when the site does not have a conventional address or when compliance requires proof of attendance.
To check in to a visit
Section titled “To check in to a visit”- Open the home screen or the visits tab.
- Tap a visit.
- Tap Check In.
- If prompted, grant location permission to Field.
Check-in and geofencing
Section titled “Check-in and geofencing”Visit check-in can be constrained with geofencing JSON. Rules combine the device location, the account location, and a radius. Higher strictness can require you to be on site before tasks unlock, or can allow check-in with a warning when you are outside the radius.
| Setting | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| No geofencing | You can check in from any location and access visit tasks without a location check. |
| Soft geofencing | You can check in outside the radius; the visit may be flagged as not checked in on site. After acknowledging the warning you can open tasks. |
| Hard geofencing | You must be within the allowed radius to check in, and tasks stay locked until a valid check-in. |
Visit detail logging
Section titled “Visit detail logging”Locations can be stored for visit start/end and task start/end when enabled in mobile configuration. Those coordinates are written to the visit and task records for reporting and compliance.
