UOM rounding

After you build a unit-of-measure structure, you can control whether UoM inventory depletion runs from the parent. UoM rounding is configured on the parent product.

Inventory depletion assumes every unit of measure for the parent derives from one underlying quantity. Rounding translates that quantity into the packs and singles a van or warehouse can still fulfil.

Tip

For example, if a vehicle holds twenty-four singles, that might read as four six-packs or one case of twenty-four. Selling one six-pack reduces singles to eighteen, six-packs to three, and you may no longer be able to promise a full case of twenty-four until stock is replenished. Rounding keeps those relationships visible in real time.

UoM rounding helps users see on-hand stock in the units they actually sell, not only the base UoM.
