Segment builder

This content is for Spring ’26. Switch to the latest version for up-to-date documentation.

The Segment Builder defines which accounts belong in a segment and when the segment may execute. Use it on a segment record or directly on another object-for example a promotion-to create virtual segments without saving a separate segment.

The builder has five main areas:

Attribute rules evaluate account attributes; every rule you add must pass for an account to qualify.

Channel rules say where the segment may run. Telesales covers Salesforce. Mobile covers Aforza Retail Execution (field). Ecommerce is reserved for future use.

Proximity rules compare an account’s registered location with distance rules versus other accounts or points of interest.

Profile rules limit which user profiles may execute against the segment-for example sales reps but not delivery drivers.

Segment reach shows a live estimate of how many accounts satisfy the current rule set as you edit.

  • Open a record that hosts the builder and select the Rules tab.
  • Use the toggles, check boxes, and proximity controls on the left for channel, profile, and proximity choices.
  • Click Add Rules on the toolbar.
  • Pick an attribute and click +.
  • Configure the operator and value. Supported operators are:
    • Equals
    • Not Equals
    • Greater Than
    • Greater Than Or Equals
    • Less Than
    • Less Than Or Equals
    • Contains
  • For Contains, separate allowed values with commas.

Changes save automatically as you edit.
